Domestic Couple - French and English Speaker - January 2024

A family living in Cologny with a child aged 8 is looking for a Domestic Couple to start in Jan 2024. This position is also open for two women.

Schedule 1: From 7:30 am for 8 hours

Schedule 2: From 12:00 pm for 8 hours. 5 days a week.

Both need to have experience working in large residences, speak good English and French and be able to drive and swim.

Houseman Duties:

• Assisting with housekeeping and deep cleaning carpets and upholstery, polishing brass, mirrors, glass, light fixtures, and chandeliers.
• Waxing all floors or hard cleaning of floors. Cleaning and laying fireplaces, restocking wood, emptying bins.
• Changing light bulbs, and fuses, checking boiler pressure, bleeding radiators, checking security and alarm systems and performing minor household repairs.
• Assisting with laundry and ironing, cooking, laying tables and caring for children and pets.
• Maintaining gardens, mowing, watering plants, cleaning windows, paths and steps.
• Raking gravel and leaves, jet spraying exterior walls, sills and outdoor furniture.
• Valeting cars, driving to meetings, shopping, running errands, airport and school run.
• Assisting with serving at dinners, and looking after swimming pools, saunas, gyms and hot tubs.
• Polishing brass and silver, antiques, and fine furniture
• Cleaning windows
• Feeding and exercising pets
• Dealing with tradesmen, suppliers and contractors
• Managing security alarms
• Carrying out any other tasks that the employer may reasonably ask

Housekeeper Cook (Nanny) Duties:

• General household cleaning and tidying
• Laundry and ironing
• Cooking/helping in the kitchen
• Childcare/babysitting
• Driving (school run, supermarket)
• Errand running (post office, dry cleaning)
• Food shopping
• Preparing and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Clearing away, tidying and cleaning the kitchen and rooms where food is eaten.
• Planning menus for approval and discussing daily requirements with the employer, house manager or butler.
• Dealing with grocery shopping and maintaining accounts and budgets
• Placing orders for kitchen supplies
• Maintaining stock control
• Keeping kitchen pots, pans and work surfaces clean and in good condition
• Ensuring the refrigerator is clean and out-of-date items discarded
• Tidying and cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms and living area
• Polishing brass and silver, antiques, and fine furniture
• Cleaning windows
• Collecting, washing and ironing laundry. Hand-washing delicate items
• Arranging for dry-cleaning
• Answering door and telephone
• Feeding and exercising pets
• Keeping patios, pathways and steps clean and tidy
• Watering household plants
• Handling petty cash and debit cards
• Dealing with tradesmen, suppliers and contractors
• Managing security alarms
• Carrying out any other tasks that the employer may reasonably ask

Requirements

• Eligibility to work in Switzerland: EU or Swiss passport or Swiss permit
• Experience working in the same role for at least 4-5 years
• Strong job references that we can validate
• Fluent in English and French
• Pet friendly
• Available to work live-in

- Salary according to the market rate in Caton Geneva and experience and skills of the candidates. (For live-in position three is a monthly deduction of CHF 990 for accommodation and month)
