About Medical Writer role

As a Medical Writer at Distalmotion, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the communication of complex medical and scientific information to a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external. You will be responsible for creating accurate, clear, and compelling content that supports our medical devices, regulatory efforts, clinical research and educational initiatives.


Tasks:

  • Content Development: Write and edit a wide range of medical and scientific content, including but not limited to clinical study reports, regulatory submissions, clinical evaluation reports (CERs), clinical evaluation plans (CEPs), and publications.
  • Regulatory Support: Collaborate with regulatory and clinical affairs to develop high-quality documents and submissions required for regulatory approval and compliance.
  • Clinical Evidence: Assist in the preparation of clinical evidence documentation and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as ISO14155, ISO 13485, FDA guidelines, and EU MDR.
  • Literature Review: Conduct literature reviews and stay updated with the latest research and clinical developments relevant to our medical devices. Extract relevant insights and disseminate to the knowledge in the company through monthly news and journal clubs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including medical affairs, clinical affairs, regulatory affairs, and product development, to gather necessary information for content creation.
  • Medical Education: Create educational materials and presentations for healthcare professionals, internal teams, and customers to enhance their understanding of our medical devices.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain and organize documentation for medical writing projects, ensuring version control and accessibility for relevant stakeholders.


Required abilities:

  • Master's Degree in Life Sciences required, advanced Clinical/Science Degree is preferred (e.g. PhD, MD, etc.);
  • Proven experience as a Medical Writer in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of medical and scientific terminology, clinical research, and regulatory requirements in the medical device industry.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using software tools such as Microsoft Office, literature databases, and reference management software.
  • Strong knowledge of guidelines and standards (e.g., ICH-GCP, ISO 14155, MedDev 2.7/1 Rev. 4).
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and meet deadlines.
  • Experience or good knowledge of laparoscopy would be a great asset.
  • Fluent in English. Any other European languages would be a plus.
