About IoT Internship

Project Title: Feasibility Study of a Secure and Safe Connected Next-Generation Surgical Robot.

Project Description: The intern will develop a demonstrator to explore the feasibility of connecting.

Tasks

Dexter, our surgical robot, to the Cloud. This will involve sending telemetry, usage, and procedural data to the Cloud.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and analysis to create a solution catalogue relevant to the project.
  • Development and implementation of a demonstrator platform, including hardware (HW), software (SW), and Cloud Backend/Frontend.
  • Conducting proof of concept trials in a dry/wet lab environment for investigational purposes.
  • Collaborating with a team of experts and providing regular updates on project progress.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in MedTech, robotics, and IoT.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience or strong knowledge of IoT technologies and secure networking.
  • Strong coding skills in C/C++ (including object-oriented techniques) required.
  • Experience in Linux and Windows application programming and scripting (Python, Bash).
  • Understanding and appreciation of CI/CD processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of Cloud computing and data engineering/management.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with distributed networking protocols such as DDS (Data Distribution Service) and/or MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) a nice to have.
  • Candidates should have cybersecurity experience, particularly in designing secure operating systems and applications, with knowledge of SSL/TLS, TPM, Trusted Boot, encryption, and secure communication protocols.
  • Swiss Resident or EU citizen.
