Do you want to join a dynamic marketing and communications team to support the promotion of the Frontiers brand by building strong media relationships and delivering compelling new content in an exciting field?

We’re looking for:

A Public Relations Specialist with a keen eye for a story to support the promotion of the Frontiers brand through profile raising activities, including media relations, stakeholder engagement, awards, social media, and content creation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building relationships with media outlets and reporters to strengthen Frontiers' local and global media engagement program.
  • Tracking media coverage, relevant news stories, industry trends, and updating relevant stakeholders.
  • Supporting proactive and reactive communications across the corporate news site and social media channels.
  • Composing and editing PR materials including news stories, blogs, social, and digital content content to promote Frontiers' brand.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to deliver compelling content, such as infographics, videos, and other digital engagement assets.
  • Editing and updating media materials, including media databases and intelligence, FAQs, and content planning calendars.
  • Preparing, pitching and distributing press materials.
  • Managing enquiries from the media and on social media.
  • Researching opportunities for brand promotion, stakeholder engagement, and content planning.

Requirements

  • Native-level English speaker. An excellent working language of French and / or German would be a strong asset.
  • At least five years work experience in journalism or public relations, agency experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Swiss and European media landscape, including holding relationships with key journalists and media publications.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, including experience of penning materials such as news features, op-eds, blogs, and talking points for presentations.
  • Excellent time-management skills, with ability to juggle multiple projects and stakeholders and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Good administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize.
  • Collaborative team player, able to work well with multi-functional groups.
  • Able to work independently and proactively, with a problem solving approach to day to day tasks.
  • Ambitious with a desire to bring new ideas to the table.
  • A University degree would be desirable but not essential.
