Our Research Center

With 18 sites across Europe and 1500 researchers, Huawei’s European Research Institute (ERI) oversees fundamental and applied technology research, academic research cooperation projects, and strategic technical planning across our network of European Ramp;D facilities. Huawei’s ERI includes the new Zurich Research Center (ZRC), located in Zurich, Switzerland. A major element of ZRC is a new research group focused on fundamental research in the area of in-Memory Data and Multilevel Memory. For this new research group, we are currently looking for an outstanding In-Memory Data and Multilevel Memory Expert.

Reporting to the PCM Director, your key responsibilities will be as following:

  • New media applications and related architecture research. Includes:
    1) New media function and performance simulator. such as PCM memory micro-architecture simulation and multi-level cache simulation.
    2) Persistence research on new media. such as crash consistency implementation and persistent sequence model research.
  • Research on multi-level mixed memory architecture and heterogeneous system memory architecture. Including:
    1) Research on DPU and near-memory computing in heterogeneous systems, such as data processing unit and near data processing in memory.
    2) Research on hybrid memory/cache architecture, such as DRAM cache, multi-level memory system based on data migration, and research on transactional memory in multi-level memory.
    3) Research on heterogeneous system memory/cache, such as unified memory and decoupled cache system.
  • Memory pooling, memory sequence and consistency study. Including:
    1) Memory pooling research, such as disaggregated memory pool, rack-scale computer, and FPGA-based memory pooling exploration.
    2) Research on memory sequence models, such as memory consistency model definition and application scenarios, and relaxed memory ordering.
    3) Research on cache consistency, such as cache coherency model and cache coherency hierarchy design.
    4) Partition memory applications, such as partitioned global address space system applications.

Requirements

Qualification Preferred

University degree in Electronics and Telecommunications or any equivalent in a recognized University
