Monte Rosa Therapeutics seeks to recruit a highly motivated biochemist/biologist to join its proteomics group in Basel. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team responsible for target identification of novel small molecule degraders. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting cell culture to sample preparation for proteomics analysis. The candidate should exhibit excellent communication and collaborative skills for working on cross-functional multi-disciplinary drug discovery teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Implement protocol for culturing and maintaining cancer cell lines
· Conducts routine proteomics experiments using established procedures and protocols
· Prepare biological samples for proteomics analysis and execute protein biochemical techniques (SDS page, Western blots, BCA, LC peptide fractionations)
· Familiar with relevant literature
· Presentation of data in informal and formal research setting
· Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents and stocks
Requirements
Skills and qualifications
· Complete apprenticeship, BS/ MSc. Degree (or equivalent) in biochemistry, biological science or related field
· Hands-on experience in biochemical, molecular biological and/or cell biological techniques
· Experience in culturing mammalian cells and sterile techniques is desirable
· Enthusiasm applying and optimizing new protocols and techniques
· Working experience in proteomics would be considered highly advantageous.
· Well-organized, highly motivated and quick to learn
· Highly collaborative and able to work in a matrix-type, interactive, and fast-paced drug discovery environment
· Good English communication skills, both oral and written
