The role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and target-driven Communications Lead to contribute to the launch and development of strategic, next-generation editorial products.

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is passionate about communications and has the skills to create and manage large-scale dissemination campaigns that will connect with broad scientific audiences and beyond.

The Communications Lead will sit within our Marketing and Communications department and act as the primary point of contact for the editorial team and lead authors.

You will ensure effective project management and participate actively in all communication activities for the innovative editorial initiatives and products, including content creation, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and social media.

Key responsibilities

  • Create and manage large-scale communication campaigns to support the launch and development of innovative editorial initiatives and products
  • Liaise with the editorial team, lead authors, and other key stakeholders on content production and approval, ensuring timely execution and scientific accuracy
  • Commission press releases, author profiles, article summaries, and other editorial content to promote newly published scientific and policy content together with their authors
  • Work with our internal design team and external agencies to produce videos, infographics, presentation slides, and other promotional material
  • Develop new communications initiatives by recognizing growth and development opportunities informed by competitor and market analyses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 8 years’ experience in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related area. Master’s Degree is an asset
  • Previous experience in publishing or in an academic environment preferred
  • Native-level English speaker
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A track record of running successful communications campaigns
  • Solid understanding of project management principles
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to produce clear and concise presentations and reports
  • Experience with social media platforms, digital asset management tools, analytics tools, and content management systems
  • Basic knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines and prioritize varied workloads
  • Collaborative team player and comfortable working in a dynamic global environment
