Job Description

In our journey to positively impact patients' lives, we are currently looking for a Director, Supply Chain Operations. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Mission

As the Director of Supply Chain Operations, you will lead our Procurement, Planning, Production, Warehousing/inventory control and Global Logistics teams, responsible for all facets of the Supply Chain organization. Scope includes ownership of or contributions to global contract manufacturing/packaging, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and development of SOPHiA’s third-party logistics process. The Supply Chain leader will liaise with cross-functional business partners managing Supply Chain activities across the business and across all product lines. This position is highly visible with operating leaders across the organization and is critical to scaling the business.

Your Main Tasks Will Be:

  • Develop long term Supply Chain strategy and build infrastructure and systems to meet expanding business needs and regulatory landscape
  • Assure fulfillment of global supply milestones across SOPHiA menu, including assay reagents, automation equipment and consumables
  • Establish efficient processes for sales, inventory, and operations planning (SIOP) and provide leadership and direction to team
  • Ensure a validated production and shipping environment including appropriate process and environmental controls
  • Develop integrated plans and KPIs to monitor performance and ensure uninterrupted supply of material to meet internal and external customer demand
  • Provide leadership and direction to all strategic Supply Chain initiatives and implement policies, best-practices, compliance reporting and financial tracking across the business
  • Partner with Product Management and cross-functional leadership to ensure that the product distribution system and commercial supply agreements are established and ready to support product launches and ongoing supply of assays and reagents
  • Establish and foster effective executive relationships with key suppliers and CMOs

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a regulated production environment (medical device, biotechnology or diagnostics) and 3-5 years in a leadership role with increasing/diverse responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Life sciences preferred
  • Certifications preferred (one or more of the following or similar): Institute of Supply Management CPSM / APICS CPIM or CSCP
  • Must have demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills with excellent communication and organizational skills both; Experience in preparing/presenting key information to stakeholders and management.
  • Must be highly motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail; Ability to function independently and work with cross-functional teams in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment where priorities can shift rapidly
  • Strong understanding of outsourcing processes, corporate purchasing standards, legal, quality and finance policies and procedures
  • Experience in ISO 13485, FDA, CE and/or MDSAP registered facility preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to think and plan strategically; Position requires strong analytical skills to understand scientific and financial data, recognize key issues and establish priorities
  • Proven people management skills with demonstrated success in managing broad teams in a matrix environment
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP computerized control systems, inventory control methods, and distribution standard operating procedure
  • Extraordinary verbal and written communication and social skills
  • Data driven approach to defining operational success
