In your role, you will join us to systematically drive the follow-on investments for one of Europe’s largest start-up portfolios (100+ startups) which will give you the chance to work with some of the best entrepreneurs in Europe, in order to bring cutting-edge technologies and new innovative products to the market. You will be a part of the newly established Portfolio Management team reporting to Thibault De Keersmaecker.
You will be responsible:
- to coordinate and operate follow-on investments into portfolio companies, including the evaluation of economic and legal implications and consequences of such investments for us in our role as existing shareholder
- to execute on annual and ad-hoc shareholder actions from our portfolio companies in a timely manner and in line with our internal portfolio governance policy
- to monitor the portfolio companies in terms of KPIs, financing activities as well as shareholder actions in order to determine our follow on-investment strategy for individual portfolio companies
- coordinating with all internal and external stakeholders for the above mentioned activities (internal investment team, internal investors team, startup entrepreneur)
Requirements
Need to have:
- Hold at least a bachelor’s degree (ideally in law, finance or business administration)
- Previous experience and/or comfort with financial transactions and fundraising, ideally (but not necessarily) in a start-up environment (e.g., Convertible loans, term sheets, cap tables, exit waterfall distributions)
- First professional experience in project management and a skillset to efficiently and reliably coordinate and communicate with different stakeholder groups (entrepreneurs, internal investor and operations team, co-investors, internal IT team) on tight deadlines
- Full written and spoken fluency in English, additional languages (especially German or French) are a plus
Nice to have:
- Ideally first experience or contact points on working with legal contracts (familiarity with key legal clauses around start-up fundraising)
- Accurate data handling skills and attention to detail
- Ability to execute independently and autonomously while being a team player at the same time
