Job Description

Seervision is an ETH start-up, building a complete technology stack that simplifies and scales live video production. Our solution enables cameras to identify and track a person’s movements, autonomously adapting focus, zoom and framing to produce the ideal shot. Our technology is revolutionizing video production for stage, studio and sports events, helping clients deliver consistent high-quality results at significantly lower cost.

We are looking for a bright and promising student to join our operations and engineering team part-time, and help us provision and deploy our AI-powered products around the globe. In this role, you will assemble, test and provision high-performance server racks on which our solution runs. At the same time you will be working together with other engineers towards improving our provisioning and deployment infrastructure learning about the cloud and automated deployment via Ansible.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble servers and other computers
  • Use and improve our provisioning infrastructure and tools to install operating systems and our software with its dependencies
  • Running and improving automated testing scripts written in Python
  • Work extensively with GitLab, Ansible and the Google Cloud Platform
  • Support our DevOps team in
    • maintaining and improving our deployment infrastructure including Ansible playbooks
    • building and maintaining infrastructure as code (IaC) in the cloud, that can scale when needed
    • writing and maintaining automated tests for quality assurance
    • maintaining and improving our CI/CD pipelines in GitLab
  • Receive and give code reviews

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor or Master program (INF, ITET, MAVT or similar)
  • Good knowledge of state-of-the-art computer hardware (Intel CPUs, Nvidia GPUs)
  • Good manual skills for assembling computer hardware
  • Good knowledge of Python and bash/shell scripting, experience with Linux
  • Excellent problem solving and debugging skills
  • Detail-oriented and accurate work style, exceptional reliability
Plus
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as GitLab, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with cloud infrastructures such as GCP, Azure or AWS
  • Prior experience in professional software development
