Overall Purpose:
GARDP manages numerous contracts with a variety of partners around the world, ranging from academia, research institutes, pharmaceutical and biotech companies, CROs, consultants or donors. The drafting, finalization and management of these contracts require a dedicated professional with the appropriate legal qualifications necessary to design appropriate agreements encompassing the various activities of the organization (Ramp;D, fundraising, communication, administration and finance) and are managed by the lawyers.
The Legal Trainee will assist the lawyers in the drafting of simple contracts (CDA...) and in the daily administrative legal tasks, and will report directly to the Senior Legal Counsel. He/she will also work closely with Legal Senior Officer and the General Counsel in assisting with day to day tasks, admin.
Contribution
He/she assist the legal team by preparing legal documents and prioritizing legal tasks, such as managing contracts database, helping in setting-up processes and templates, etc.

This role affects all aspects of the support services and has an impact on GARDP activities.
Tasks and Responsibilities (job specific to be completed by manager):
- Conduct initial legal research and provide information to the lawyers upon request
- Manage administrative tasks in the legal office in the frame of the different tasks and responsibilities of each lawyer (corporate governance, team organisation, ...)
- Draft first copy of legal document (CDA, ) under control of the lawyer
- Legal database management
Reporting line
- He/she reports to the Senior Legal Counsel
- Specify any contributing manager: General Counsel
Interactions
- He/she interacts closely with the General Counsel, Senior Legal Counsel and the Legal Senior Officer,.
- He/she works with a number of teams and units in many departments including External Relations, Ramp;D, Finance amp; Planning, Business Development, Procurement, Communication, Advocacy, and Regional Offices
- He/She maintains productive relationships both internally and externally by projecting the image of a credible partner and ensures commitment of partners.

Education
- Currently completing a Master's degree in law or already graduated (business law and/or pharmaceutical law preferably) in a Swiss University or HES.
Other Requirements
Fluency in English and French
Good knowledge of Microsoft Suite
Activity rate: 50% - 100% to be discussed
